National Lottery Project Grants & Developing Your Creative Practice Funding • IslandWorks

Thursday May 9, 2024 • 3pm – 5pm National Lottery Project Grants & Developing Your Creative Practice Funding

Join us for an in-person session to discover what National Lottery Project Grants are all about and learn how to apply to bring your own project to life. This event is open to everyone, individual artists, creative practitioners, community organisations and cultural organisations across Swale, Medway and Kent.

It’s perfect for those who are interested in delivering and progressing in arts activities in the area and are considering applying for Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants (under £30k) and Developing Your Creative Practice. Meet other like-minded individuals and organisations, along with members of Arts Council England’s South East team who are supporting Swale & Medway, for an engaging in-person session where we can discuss and explore the following topics:

  • How National Lottery Project Grant decisions are made
  • How to make an application
  • What’s next after receiving your decision
  • Developing Your Creative Practice overview
  • What support is available to you, the applicants

At the end of the session, we will have a Q&A session where you can freely ask any questions you may have about our decision-making process.

This is a wonderful chance for you to seek further clarification and gain insights. Your active participation is highly encouraged, as we aim to create an inclusive and community-friendly environment.

We are keen to talk with rural and local towns across Swale and Medway, Dulcie Alexander being the Relationship Manager for this region, beyond the cultural hubs of the larger towns. Interested to speak with any community groups, health hubs, libraries, prisons, and anyone who may be considering gaining funding for arts or creative activities with the public or for themselves.

We are offering 5 1 –1’s with a Relationship Manager – A 15 minute slot for those with a progressed project idea to discuss application. These can be booked on a first come first served basis on the day. There is the opportunity on the day to sign up for a conversation with a Relationship Manager for first time, diverse applicants who have cultural project plans forming.

Accessibility:
Please note access needs when registering for this event at least two weeks before our event begins in order for access to be provided. You will receive booking information and attendance instructions closer to the time.

Event Venue:
This session is a great chance to meet Arts Council England but also visit the Dockyard Church in all its renovation splendour! Just recently it hosted Dante or Die’s theatre piece Kiss Marry Kill in partnership with Ideas Test Creative People and Places Programme!

The venue is a five minute walk from Sheerness Train station and accessible by road.

We are keen to work with any community groups and people wanting to progress their creativity from rural areas and towns across Swale & Medway.
