Our Story

How it all began

The idea started in 2022 with a goal to create a creative and collaborative shared space for businesses in Swale.

Approached by The Sheerness Dockyard Preservation Trust who have spent many years to repair and restore the Dockyard Church to put Sheerness back on the map. The former church now provides much needed support for young people and new businesses on Sheppey and beyond - something which aligned with our values as a Coworking provider.

...and How It's Going

IslandWorks at Dockyard Church was set up to achieve both the vision of what a Coworking space should be and the aims of the Dockyard Trust. Providing coworking space, meeting rooms and on site support from The Kent Foundation helps young business owners to thrive. Our in house Coffee Lounge, meeting rooms and event space provides the local community both in Sheerness and surrounding areas a new beautiful space they can utilise as well as explore the stunningly restored church.

Our Core Values

Community

Creating spaces not just for our members but for the local communities where we are based. We should recognise and reward those who help our communities.

Growth

Helping start ups and SMEs with the tools they need to grow and succeed by offering resources and help internally and from recommended external partners.

Friendly

Being warm, welcoming and honest with people. Ensuring everyone is welcome and treat people with respect, as we would wish to be treated.
